Attio is going up-market. We're not.
Before 2025, we were losing many deals to Attio. Then something changed. From 2025 onwards we started winning almost every time, and the reason is structural: Attio decided to go up-market by a long shot, and the further up-market they go, the further they move away from where actual SMB salespeople work.
Attio is a superior software when it comes to building complex workflows at enterprise scale. If you're a 50+ person company with a dedicated GTM engineer who treats the CRM as a programmable database, Attio is genuinely impressive. The product is built for tech-savvy startups handling very large volumes of data, where the CRM is more of a platform than a tool.
That's not what Breakcold is for. Breakcold is built for sales teams of 5 to 30 people who need a CRM that actually runs their day. People who live on LinkedIn, who close on WhatsApp, who don't have a GTM engineer on staff to configure custom views and write SQL-like filters across 14 object types.
Data model: same depth, right-sized for SMBs
One thing to set straight: Breakcold's data model is solidly #2 after Attio, and architecturally comparable. We have custom objects, custom fields, custom relations. The difference is not capability, it's audience. Attio gives you Enterprise-grade depth that needs a specialist to configure. Breakcold gives you the same depth without the specialist requirement. If you're a team that doesn't have a dedicated ops person, that distinction is the entire game.
Anyone who tells you Breakcold is "lighter" than Attio on the data side hasn't looked at the product. We're the only CRM in our size class that ships custom objects, fields and relations as first-class. We just don't force you to think about them on day one.
Where Attio breaks: the multichannel gap
Attio's pitch is built around emails, meetings, calls. That's the entire surface. Breakcold is the only sales CRM that natively integrates email, calls, meetings, LinkedIn, Telegram and WhatsApp. Auto-synced. Threaded next to the deal. Available to your AI agents through our MCP.
For an SMB sales team in 2026, this is not a "nice to have." Half the modern deal cycle happens on social channels Attio doesn't natively touch. You can bolt Surfe or similar tools on top of Attio for LinkedIn sync, but it's glue, it breaks, and it costs more.
The agent and MCP angle
Attio has an MCP. So does Breakcold. The difference: Breakcold's MCP exposes the multichannel inbox. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and 14 other AI clients connected to Breakcold can read LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Telegram threads alongside email. Attio's MCP stops at records, emails, meetings and calls.
If you're betting on AI agents owning more of your sales motion, the question is whether the CRM can hand the agent every channel the prospect actually used. Today, only Breakcold can.
Pricing: Attio per-seat, Breakcold per-usage
Attio bills $34/seat/mo on Pro. Add Enrichment and AI Research add-ons (which most teams need) and you're well above $50/seat. A team of 5 lands around $170 to $250/mo before any add-ons.
Breakcold runs on one $59/mo plan. First seat included. Each extra seat is $10/mo. So a team of 5 costs $99/mo, all-in. That's not a 30% discount, it's roughly a third of the cost. And we don't gate LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram, AI agents or enrichment behind upgraded tiers.
One quiet signal
Some people at Attio did try Breakcold. The CEO follows my tweets pretty closely. Take that however you want. The category is small enough that we all watch each other.
When to pick Attio over Breakcold
Be honest with yourself. If you're 50+ people, have a GTM engineer, and your sales motion is email and calls only, Attio is a good pick. The product is genuinely strong at what it targets.
If you're 5 to 30 people, sell across multiple channels, and would rather configure your CRM in an afternoon than in a quarter, Breakcold is the better answer. Same data-model depth, multichannel native, AI agents that actually see every conversation, third of the price.
