Pipedrive story
Pipedrive was founded in 2010 in Tallinn, Estonia, by five sales people tired of CRMs built for managers instead of the people actually doing the calls. Their pitch was a clean visual pipeline, dead simple deal tracking and an interface that did not need a consultant to set up. Pipedrive grew into one of the most loved SMB CRMs of the 2010s and is honestly where most of our paying customers came from.
In 2020 the company was acquired by the private equity firm Vista Equity Partners for around $1.5 billion. The PE era is a different chapter.
Pipedrive vs Breakcold in 2026
The honest take is that Pipedrive was great in 2010 but the 2026 product is not the same product. Just look at G2 reviews from the last two years. New features mostly ride in the upper plans or paid add ons (LeadBooster, Smart Docs, Campaigns, Web Visitors), and the AI work is mostly summarization, not the agent style automation a modern SMB sales team actually wants.
Breakcold is the AI native sales CRM for SMB sales teams of 2 to 50 that run multichannel sales every day. We auto sync LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram, email, calls and meetings into one unified inbox. Pipedrive does not have a native LinkedIn inbox, a native WhatsApp inbox, or a native Telegram inbox.
On the AI side, Breakcold went much further than summarization with a first party MCP server that gives Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor the same control surface as a human user, an AI native CRM built around autonomous workflows, lead scoring and auto task creation, and a packaged agent Skill for Claude Code. No per credit AI ceiling, no upper plan paywall.
Pipedrive pricing vs Breakcold pricing
Pipedrive Premium is $59 per seat per month on annual billing, the upper plan where workflow automation, advanced reporting and the AI features actually live. Lite at $14 and Growth at $39 are cheaper but the features a real sales team needs are gated behind Premium or Ultimate at $79. On top of that, Pipedrive sells paid add ons: LeadBooster, Web Visitors, Smart Docs, Campaigns. A team of 5 on Premium annual is $295 per month before add ons.
Breakcold is $59 per month for the base plan with one seat and one channel account included. Extra seats are $10 per month and extra channel accounts are $10 per month. A team of 5 on Breakcold is $59 + 4 x $10 = $99 per month with no per seat tax, no AI credit ceiling and no paid add ons to unlock the real features. The multichannel inbox, custom objects, multiple pipelines and the MCP are all in the base price.
Is Breakcold a real alternative to Pipedrive?
Most of our paying customers came from Pipedrive, so yes. If your team is still in the 2015 Pipedrive era and just wants a clean pipeline view, the Lite plan can still do the job. If you actually run sales across LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram and email and want AI agents to operate the CRM with you, Breakcold is the better fit.
