Streak CRM story
Streak was founded in 2011 in San Francisco by Aleem Mawani and Andrew Eye as a Y Combinator company. The idea was simple and clever: rather than build another standalone CRM, build the CRM directly inside Gmail as a browser extension. Pipelines, deals and contacts all live in the same tab as the inbox.
The audience is solo founders, agencies and very small teams that already spend their entire workday in Gmail and do not want to leave it. Streak is well known in that lane for the Gmail first UX.
Streak vs Breakcold in 2026
The honest split is that Streak has stayed inside the Gmail tab and not really pushed into the AI native CRM wave or beyond email. Their core promise in 2026 looks a lot like their core promise in 2014, pipelines and tracking inside your inbox. Breakcold is the AI native sales CRM for SMB sales teams of 2 to 50 that run multichannel sales every day.
We auto sync LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram, email, calls and meetings into one unified inbox. Streak has the Gmail integration but no native LinkedIn inbox, no WhatsApp inbox, no Telegram inbox, and no real app outside Gmail. If your team does not run on Gmail or wants to reply to a LinkedIn DM inside the CRM, Streak is not the fit.
On the AI side, Streak added a 20 AI credit allowance per user per month on Pro for things like deal summaries and autofill. Breakcold went much further with a first party MCP server that gives Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor the same control surface as a human user, an AI native CRM built around autonomous workflows, lead scoring and auto task creation, and a packaged agent Skill for Claude Code, with no per credit ceiling.
Streak pricing vs Breakcold pricing
Streak Pro is $49 per seat per month on annual billing, or $59 monthly, with 20 AI credits per user per month. Pro+ jumps to $69 annual ($89 monthly) for 150 credits, and Enterprise is $129 annual ($159 monthly) for 500 credits. Every teammate has to be on the same plan, no mixed tiers allowed. A team of 5 on Streak Pro annual runs $245 per month.
Breakcold is $59 per month for the base plan with one seat and one channel account included. Extra seats are $10 per month and extra channel accounts are $10 per month. A team of 5 on Breakcold is $59 + 4 x $10 = $99 per month with no per seat tax and no AI credit ceiling. The multichannel inbox, custom objects, multiple pipelines and the MCP are all in the base price.
Is Breakcold a real alternative to Streak?
If your team literally never leaves Gmail and a 20 credit AI allowance is enough for you, Streak is a fine pick. If you actually run sales across LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram and email and want AI agents to operate the CRM with you, Breakcold is the better fit.
