Folk CRM story
Folk is a French CRM started in 2019 by Thibaud Elzière (co-founder of the startup studio eFounders, now Hexa), Jean-Yves Poilleux and Simo Lemhandiz. The product opened to the public in 2021 and raised a Series A round of around 26 million dollars to scale.
Folk started life as a no-code, Notion style CRM for solopreneurs and small teams. The UI is clean, the onboarding is fast, and the company has been steadily moving up market by adding pipelines, AI assistants and a Chrome extension that pulls data from LinkedIn, Gmail, Outlook and WhatsApp.
Folk vs Breakcold in 2026
The honest split is audience. Folk is a great choice if you are a solopreneur, a small partnerships team or a recruiter who mostly needs a relationship database with a few automations on top. Breakcold is built for proper sales teams of 2 to 50 people that actually need to close deals from LinkedIn, Telegram, WhatsApp, email and calls every day.
The biggest practical gap is the inbox. Folk frames itself as LinkedIn friendly, but you click buttons in the Chrome extension to sync each conversation back to a record. Breakcold auto-syncs LinkedIn, Telegram, WhatsApp and email into one unified inbox without anyone touching a button. If your day is messaging people, that difference adds up to hours every week.
The second gap is AI. Folk has four AI assistants for follow-ups, recaps, research and workflows. Breakcold ships a first party MCP server with 54 tools across 17 AI clients, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others can actually read your pipeline, post notes, move deals and reply in your social inboxes. Most of our customers run their CRM from inside Claude Code or Cowork now.
Folk pricing vs Breakcold pricing
Folk charges per seat. Standard is $30 per user per month billed monthly, $24 annual. Premium is $60 per user per month, and Enterprise starts at $100 per user per month. A real sales team of 5 on Folk Premium is $300 per month, plus the LinkedIn or WhatsApp enrichment add ons that competitors usually charge separately.
Breakcold is $59 per month flat for the base plan, with one seat and one channel account included. Extra seats are $10 per month, extra accounts are $10 per month, and enrichment is unlimited at no token cost. A team of 5 on Breakcold is $59 + 4 x $10 = $99 per month with every channel in. That is roughly one third of the Folk Premium quote for a team that actually closes deals.
Is Breakcold a real alternative to Folk?
Yes. We churn quite a few Folk customers every month, especially recruiters, agencies and SDR teams that need real multichannel selling instead of button click syncing. If you want a fuller breakdown of how the two compare on features, read our long form Folk alternatives review.
